| Do I need a uniform? |  |

Uniforms are optional unless you wish to grade, in which case you may either borrow a uniform with a Legacy Shorin-Ryu crest (if one is available in your size) or buy the uniform and crest beforehand. Generally, if you’ve stuck with karate for a few weeks it’s a good idea to get a uniform even if you’re a ways away from grading. Some techniques shown in class require you to grab the other persons clothing and Gi’s are made of a strong material that won’t stretch or rip easily. |
