Though you don’t need one when you first start, it is expected that you purchase one if you intend to continue with karate. (Prices are estimates.) Regular weight karate gi’s are easy to iron, light and inexpensive. However they don’t last as long or feel as nice as the heavy duty gi’s. SIZE: PRICE 1-2: $42 • 3-4: $46 • 5-6: $50 Heavy duty karate gi’s take a little longer to iron and are more expensive. However they feel much nicer and last longer than the regular gi’s.
